Dad Takes to the Internet to Tackle Dead-Beat Dads

Summary: In the video we have embedded in this post, a young dad talks about how cool it is to be a father. He basically tells dead-beats dad what they are missing.

Coltrane Curtis is a young dad who took to the internet to let people know how fun and amazing it is to be a father. By telling his story, he pretty much lets dead-beat dads know what they are missing by skipping out on their children.

His entire discussion is poignant and important for all fathers to hear, but his closing lines are incredibly valid for those of us who have children:

“Things that I get from him, I’m so surprised and it just changes everyday. The first day he said my name. He actually said my name yesterday. I’m papa. I’m dad but I was like, “What’s my name?” He’s like, “Coltrane.” I was like, “How did you even know that?” The things that he picks up on. This is a rush. Every day it’s a fourth quarter game winning jump shot from the corner. When I get up in the morning, I cook him breakfast. It’s crazy. Wifey makes pancakes. I make grilled cheese. It’s amazing to be able to actually do things that I thought I would never be able to do.

Nobody wants to cook anything that I’m hooking up, but my man loves it. He loves my grilled cheese. It’s the coolest thing ever. It’s like I’m his superhero.”
