Summary:Â It was announced late this week that the law firm of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn has added Matthew Szalach to the Bloomfield Hills office.Â
The law firm of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP has announced via a press release that Matthew H. Szalach has been added as a partner. He has joined the firm in its Intellectual Property Department.
He will also serve as a member of the firm’s Patent Practice Group. He will work in the Bloomfield Hills office.
The IP Department at Honigman employs close to 80 attorneys and legal professionals who serve clients locally, nationally and internationally.
Szalach is responsible for preparing and prosecuting international and domestic patent applications in biomechanical, mechanical, electromechanical, automotive, reissue patent applications and controls and electric arts.
Szalach also has experience preparing opinions centered around invalidity, freedom-to-operate, state-of-the-art and patentability.
Szalach has first-hand experience in the automotive industry, working as an engineer prior to attending law school.
He is admitted to the bar in Michigan, the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
He earned his law degree from Wayne State University Law School and his M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan. He earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University.
He comes to the firm from Dickey & Pierce, PLC.
