Summary: The construction practice of Schiff Hardin LLP has added James E. Frankel in the firm’s New York office, effective immediately.
It was announced via a press release today that the law firm of Schiff Hardin LLP has added James E. Frankel to its office in New York. Frankel will work as a partner in the firm’s Construction Practice. Frankel is known as Jamie.
Frankel comes to the firm from Arent Fox, where he was the founder and chair of the construction practice since joining their ranks in 2007.
The managing partner for Schiff Hardin, Ron Safer, said the following in the release: “Jamie is well known for his strong belief in practical, realistic approaches to problem solving. His ability to produce time-efficient and innovative business solutions has won the respect of project owners and leaders in the architecture, engineering and construction industries, with whom he has a wide base of relationships. The lawyers at Schiff Hardin eagerly anticipate working with him to expand our Construction practice and serve the needs of our clients.”
On joining the firm, Frankel had the following to say:
“I’ve known and respected the lawyers at Schiff Hardin and its Construction Law Group as well as Mazur Carp for a long time. Quite frankly, their combination 16 months ago caught my attention and I knew something special had just happened at the construction bar. Schiff Hardin entered at the top of the New York construction market when it combined with Mazur Carp. When Ken Roberts, the Construction Law Chairman who also serves on the firm’s executive committee, approached me, I knew that I wanted to move my practice to Schiff Hardin.”
The Construction Law Chair, Kenneth M. Roberts, said: “The team we’ve assembled at Schiff Hardin looks and acts unlike every other construction practice: our team is comprised of the most seasoned attorneys, with the experience to handle the entire range of complex issues faced by major building and infrastructure projects – from transactions, project finance, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution to large contract procurement, project controls and field-based project management – anywhere in our national platform, as well as overseas. And we continue to have conversations with attorneys who can deliver world class client service and contribute to our firm’s growth.”
