Summary: Monica Lewinsky has returned to the public eye, making her first speech in years, and she has even joined the Twitter world too.
For the first time in 16 years, Monica Lewinsky gave a public speech. Yes, that Monica Lewinsky! The woman made famous for her affair with President Bill Clinton in the oval office so many years ago is now back in the public eye.
Lewinsky is even using Twitter now.
She felt the need to give a speech at the Forbes Under 30 Summit to talk about the work she has been doing with The Tyler Clementi Foundation. The only reason Lewinsky survived a brutal two-year stretch of her life was from emotional support provided by her family and close friends.
Lewinsky endured incredible amounts of emotional abuse for the two years following the affair going public. She withstood slut shaming, fat shaming, bullying, emotional abuse, sexual harassment and the destruction of her reputation.
We have embedded the video of Lewinsky’s speech in this post for you to watch. It is incredible powerful and for her to speak in public about these issues takes a lot of guts and courage after all she has been through over the past 16-plus years.
