Woman Arrested Twice in Three Hours for DWI

Summary: A woman from New York was arrested twice in less than three hours for DWI by the same police department. She was dressed as a zombie during her first arrest.

Halloween is just days away, and no matter how old we are, there are still some people out there who love to dress up in costume and go to parties. One woman, identified as Catherine Butler, ran into a lot of hot water this past weekend, according to WROC.

Butler was arrested twice in a matter of hours for DWI in the state of New York. The first time she was arrested, Butler was dressed as a zombie.

The first arrest came at 2a.m. in Gates, New York for DWI and for operating a vehicle without headlights. The second arrest came less than three hours after the first and was performed by the same police department, but on a different road.

She was charged with DWI the second time, but all of her zombie makeup was gone.

During her first arrest, the blood alcohol content of Butler was .11. It registered at .09 during her second arrest. The two arrests are the third and fourth for DWI on her record. The other two happened in 2006 and 2011.

Officials said that despite her prior arrests, Butler had a valid driver’s license because her previous charges were reduced to impaired driving.

“If you have a loved one, who has any type of substance abuse problem, whether it’s alcohol or street drugs, cocaine, heroin, that until they get treatment for their illness, this behavior repeats itself over and over again,” Chief James VanBrederode said.
