Summary: Rapper Suge Knight and Comedian Katt Williams have been arrested and charged with robbery of a paparazzo’s camera.
Marion Suge Knight, former rapper and founder of Death Row Records, and comedian Micah Katt Williams were arrested Wednesday, Oct 29, on suspicion of stealing a paparazzo’s camera on Sept 5.
Formerly Williams had claimed they stole nothing from the woman, who he said was video-taping a 5-year-old in an alley, and took of running after Williams asked her to erase the video.
Both men have been charged with one count of robbery. What this means for Knight is up to 30 years in prison, considering his prior conviction for assault with a deadly weapon. Knight’s checkered past is interesting enough: he was driving the car within which Shakur was shot and killed in 1996. He later spent years in prison for violating parole for assault and weapons convictions, and his successful record label, Death Row Records, which had signed on such talent as Snoop Doggy Dogg and Tupac Shakur, finally tanked in 2006.
Williams, meanwhile, who was arrested upon showing up to court for an unrelated assault case, could face up to seven years in prison.
Prosecutors asked a $1 million bail for Knight and $75,000 for Williams.
