Summary: It was announced earlier this week that the law firm of DLA Piper has hired Emil Infante, who will work out of the firm’s office in Miami, Florida.
Emil R. Infante has joined DLA Piper in the firm’s Miami office, according to a press release. Infante will work as a partner in the firm’s Corporate and Finance practice.
Infante handles cases regarding banking, securities, family office services, financial regulation and cross-border transactions.

“Emil bolsters a strong cross-border team. As our corporate clients continue to expand their operations in South Florida, Latin America and around the world, his sophisticated transactional experience will further enhance our ability to provide sound counsel to those entering new and emerging markets,” said Joseph Alexander, DLA Piper’s Southeast US managing partner and Southeast US chair of the firm’s Corporate and Private Equity practice. “His arrival also underscores our ability to grow a regional presence through the addition of high-quality laterals across a number of strategic practice areas.”
Infante comes to the firm from Foley & Lardner. He previously co-founded Infante Zumpano and worked as the managing partner at the firm. One of his first jobs came with the Financial Services Roundtable in the District of Columbia.

“Emil acts as an outside general counsel to many of his clients, advising on family and business matters while also handling significant acquisitions and divestitures, among other transactions,” said Jay Smith, chair of DLA Piper’s US Corporate and Finance practice. “His entrepreneurial background and deep financial services knowledge across a range of jurisdictions is an ideal fit for our platform.”
Infante earned his law degree from St. Mary’s University School and his LL.M. from Georgetown.
