Summary: For this post I’m going to focus on restaurants in Sanibel and Captiva Island, which are two islands off the coast from Fort Myers.
Today we are going to talk Florida! All I can think about this week is spring and warm weather, so obviously Florida comes to mind! I’ve been to so many different places in Florida, but for this post I’m going to focus on Sanibel and Captiva Island, which are two islands off the coast from Fort Myers. They are popular vacation destinations and for good reason!
The Bubble Room
The Bubble Room is by far my favorite place to eat on Captiva, and not just because of the food. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant is so much fun and definitely family friendly, which is perfect for a lot of vacationers! Their famous bubble bread and sticky buns are served with every entree and they have the BIGGEST and most delicious slices of cake! Most people get the cake to go since you rarely leave The Bubble Room with room to spare!
Definitely make reservations at the Bubble Room if you find yourself traveling to the area!
The Mucky Duck
The Mucky Duck is another family-friendly favorite spot of mine. It’s a pub style restaurant with an amazing view of the ocean. The restaurant was opened in 1976 and serves pub style food and plenty of seafood, including clam chowder, oysters, Duck L’Orange, various styles of shrimp, and delicious sandwiches. The sunset views are probably the biggest draw to the restaurant and they advertise the sunset times on their website along with a sunset cam!
Pinocchio’s Original Italian Ice Cream
I could not talk about Sanibel without mentioning Pinocchio’s! Gelato was first introduced to Pinocchio’s customers back in 1980 and the current owners have made sure to keep this tradition alive, serving many different signature flavors. All of their gelato, sorbet, ice cream and frozen yogurt is made in-house, fresh every day. Their traditional flavors include Tiramisu, Ginger Pear, Zuppa Inglese, Sicilian Blood Orange and Nocciola. This place is most definitely worth your time!
