Summary: The most recent American Bar Association data shows a small increase in employment rates for law school graduates. View the top 11 law schools in the Northeast based on this data.
Since the recession in 2008, employment rates have been low. Law school graduates have been no exception to these low rates. The American Bar Association has released new data revealing a slight change for the better. According to the data, 71 percent of the 2014 graduating class have secured long-term, full-time positions where a law degree is at least preferred within ten months of graduation. The class of 2013 reported 67 percent employed in a full-time, long term position where a law degree was preferred nine months after graduation.
While the overall employment numbers look better, this may be due to the fact that 2,700 less students graduated this past year. The ABA has said that law school enrollment for 2014 was the lowest since 1974. Almost two-thirds of law schools experienced a decline in their enrollment this year compared to the year prior.
