Summary: Twenty-five healthcare and five corporate lawyers will be joining the Atlanta office of BakerHostetler to help establish the firm’s newer location as a full-service general practice office.
Starting June 1, the Atlanta firm BakerHostetler will add a team of 30 new lawyers. The team of 25 healthcare and five corporate lawyers will be coming from McKenna Long & Aldridge. With the addition of the 25 healthcare lawyers, BakerHostetler’s Healthcare Industry team will be bumped to over 80 attorneys. These incoming lawyers specialize in litigation, real estate, transactional, and regulatory.
BakerHostetler Chairman Steven Kestner states that the firm is adding more lawyers to demonstrate their commitment to providing comprehensive counsel due to the change in the way the healthcare industry delivers service and conducts business.
Christopher Swift, co-leader of BakerHostetler’s Healthcare Industry team, says that the firm is the place where “companies and lawyers affiliate for strategic healthcare initiatives”. He adds that the attorneys from McKenna Long will “continue to build our ability to extend a wide range of services to clients in the healthcare sector”.
The five corporate lawyers from McKenna Long will be the first in the BakerHostetler Atlanta office. They bring experience in a diversity of corporate and financial transactions. BakerHostetler established their Atlanta firm in 2014 when it merged with Woodcock Washburn. The firm is making a push to create a strong presence in Atlanta. The firm has over 900 lawyers located in 14 offices across the country.
