Dan Clivner will be joining the Sidley Austin
Clivner will be coming from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP where he served as the managing partner of the Los Angeles office for 17 years. His expertise will help the Sidley Austin firm’s presence in Los Angeles and the growth of their M&A and Private Equity practices.
He has extensive knowledge in counseling domestic and international private equity and corporate clients on M&A. He advises boards, managements, special committees and investment banking firms on domestic and international corporate transactions. Just some of his clients have been Siris Capital, Universal Studios Inc, CBS Corporation, Herbalife Ltd, and ZelnickMedia.
Some of Clivner’s humanitarian work includes currently serving as the Chair for the largest pro bono law firm in the nation, Public Counsel. He has previously served as the director of AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA).
Sidley Austin has added four other partners to the growing global M&A practice so far in 2015. With the addition of Clivner, Sidley Austin will open a new office in Century City to better serve clients in the media and entertainment and asset management areas.
