Summary: Janice Dickinson is the latest woman to come forward with allegations of rape against comedian Bill Cosby.
Former supermodel Janice Dickinson has recently claimed that Bill Cosby drugged and raped her back in 1982. His team called her allegations a lie, leading her to sue him for false light, defamation, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Her story alleges that Cosby flew her to his home in Lake Tahoe, Nevada from a photo shoot in Bali, India to discuss her appearing on The Cosby Show. He offered her red wine and a pill after she complained of menstrual cramps. She says she trusted him because of the promise of a career and his demeanor.
Her memory of the event involves Cosby being on top of her and then waking up later to pain in her lower areas. She said her pants were off, her top was open and there was semen everywhere so she jumped up and left as quickly as she could. She alleges that he raped her vaginally and anally. While Dickinson wrote a memoir in 2002, the event is not included because, she claims, the publisher’s legal department wouldn’t allow it. Dickinson is seeking an unspecified amount in damages.
Three dozen other victims have come forward in the last few years alleging that comedian Bill Cosby drugged and raped them. Cosby denies assaulting any of them. No criminal or civil lawsuits have been charged because the statute of limitations has passed but Cosby also faces defamation lawsuits from three other women.
