Summary: Steven Agnoli has been named the newest chief information officer at corporate law firm Reed Smith.
The Wall Street Journal reports that In October, Reed Smith created an Ebola task force.
Previously, Agnoli served as the head of global IT transformation at Mylan NV, a generic drug maker. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, an Israel-based company, offered $40 billion for Mylan in April, but Mylan rejected the offer. Earlier this month, Teva took a 4.6% stake in the company.
Agnoli also served as the chief information officer at K&L Gates, another law firm.
Last year, the former CIO of Mayer Brown was sentenced to 27 months in prison.
In addition, the firm has named Lucy Dillon as its new chief knowledge officer. Dillon will focus on improving business procedures, promoting the strategic use of information, and enabling employees to use information and technology effectively. The position requires the CKO to “above all, create an environment and culture in our people of improving and contributing to knowledge in the firm.” The CKO will use intangible knowledge resources, such as patents, customer relationships, and employee know-how to do so. Earlier this month, the firm also expanded its intellectual property practice, according to the Legal Intelligencer.
Dillon previously served as the director of knowledge management at Berwin Leighton Paisner, a law firm. During her tenure at Berwin Leighton Paisner, she learned knowledge management practice skills across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Dillon also started this month.
Median compensation for CEOs exceeded $10 million in 2013.
According to the Global Legal Post, Dillon will be located in the firm’s London office and Agnoli will work in Pittsburgh.
