Summary: Upon John Bickel’s departure, law firm Bickel & Brewer rebrands itself.
Now that Bickel & Brewer are changing their name, upon the March departure of co-founding partner John Bickel, the heavy hitting firm with a reputation for intense confrontational style is coming to an end. After over 30 years, Bickel, 66, invoked the partnership retirement clause and is now senior counsel at Fish & Richardson in Dallas.
“I will always appreciate the time we had together and the success we experienced during the past 30 years,” said Brewer. “We never really felt there was a dispute between us. We are good friends and godfather to each other’s children. We had lunch together just recently.”
The new firm, Brewer, Attorneys, & Counselors will open a new office on downtown Dallas’ Comerica Tower.
“New branding and new name, still great lawyers and same great results for clients,” said Brewer Friday, with that advertisement tonality. “We were slow to change a brand name that worked for so many years and in deference to our good friend John.”
Not only Bickel & Brewer, but also the Bickel & Brewer Foundation, which creates and manages education programs for public school students, and the Bickel & Brewer Storefront, which handles legal pro bono projects, will also change their name to accord with the new brand.
