Mayer Brown Welcomes Alexander Behrens to Its Banking & Finance Practice

Summary: Alexander Behrens has joined Mayer Brown in its Frankfurt office.

Alexander Behrens has joined Mayer Brown’s Banking & Finance practice in its Frankfurt, Germany office as a partner. Behrens previously practiced with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer , where he worked as a financial services specialist.

Francisco Mendez recently joined the firm.

Behrens advises German and international banks and financial services providers on a variety of issues, including banking regulatory concerns. He is experienced in own-funds matters, recovery and resolution planning projects, remuneration issues, risk management, compliance, European Central Bank issues, and Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II. Additionally, Behrens advises on financial institutions groups NPL deals and M&A mandates, and he is experienced in conducting internal investigations in the finance sector.

Kevin Sheridan Jr. joined the New York office in February.

Kwon Lee joined the firm in February.
