The Dallas Legal Market is Stronger Than Ever

Summary: Several big law firms are moving into bigger and newer offices or re-signing their leases, showing that Dallas is a strong place for law firms to be established.

Barnes & Thornburg LLP is making their Dallas move more permanent by signing a lease for a 12,200 square foot Uptown office space on McKinney Avenue. After 20 months, they can choose to renew and expand into more office space. The landlords are Summit Midstream Partners and MetLife.

The firm’s goal is to become a destination place for legal talent and to continue to grow in the region. They moved into the space on Monday.

Other firms are signing longer term leases and moving into new office in the Uptown and downtown Dallas areas. Hunton & Williams re-signed the lease on their 88,000 square foot office in Fountain Place. Polsinelli moved into an expanded location in the Frost Tower located in the Harwood District. Brewer, Attorney & Counselors moved to an office space in the Comerica Tower. Frost Brown Todd LLC opened a new office with the help of newly added firm leaders in Uptown in the Crescent Court. Locke Lord, Greenberg Traurig LLP, and Norton Rose Fulbright re-signed for their Chase Tower locations.

Barnes & Thornburg was represented by Jon McNeil and Torrey Littlejohn of JLL.

Sub-landlord Summit Midstream Partners was represented by Charlie Morrison.

Landlord Metlife was represented by Clay Gilbert and Celeste Fowden of CBRE.
