Former Oklahoma Officer Arrested for Sexual Acts with a Minor

Summary: The Valley Brook Officer, Courtney Schlinke, was arrested after the 14-year-old victim’s grandmother found inappropriate photos and texts on the girl’s phone.

A former Oklahoma police officer has been arrested for numerous sexual acts with a 14-year-old girl. The 21-year-old officer, Courtney Schlinke, was still in training with the Valley Brook Police Department. Schlinke is being charged with 16 counts of rape by instrumentation, 9 counts of lewd acts with a minor, and 8 counts of oral sodomy after the victims grandmother discovered photos and texts on the girls phone.

The photos and messages date back to a year on the phone but it is believed the relationship has been going on for longer than that. The victim was living with Schlinke for at least the last four months. Schlinke’s Twitter account refers to the victim as her girlfriend with messages that say “I forget your age sometimes” and “I don’t want to hide you anymore.”

The victim’s family went to the police department with the evidence July 1^st. Schlinke had been with the police department since February but resigned from an unrelated personnel issue on July 20^th. A week after her resignation, she was arrested.

The Valley Brook Department has been suffering from a lot of negative light lately. Two years ago, another officer was arrested on domestic abuse and kidnapping charges. In 2011, the department chief at that time was charged with drug trafficking.

The department stated that Schlinke had nothing in her background to suggest she was not eligible for the job. She remains in the Oklahoma City jail on $1.1 million bond.
