Summary: The Hollywood stars have supposedly decided to end their marriage.
Radar Online reports that Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are calling it quits after 17 years of marriage.
An insider said, “For Will and Jada, holding it together these past few years has been tough because their marriage has been on life support for a long time…They’re exhausted from trying to maintain the façade of a happy union. They’ve decided to pull the plus in a carefully choreographed manner, [and] agree announcing their split at the end of the summer is the right move.”
California recently decided unless spouses live separately, their marriage will be seen as intact.
As for their children and their property, the insider revealed that the Smiths have “worked out a confidential settlement to protect their $240 million fortune, and prepare their kids [Jaden, 17, and Willow, 14] for the fallout.”
The two have hinted that their marriage has been rocky for some time. Smith admitted that the marriage had “died” during an interview earlier this year. Pinkett Smith commented on her husband’s wandering eye to Howard Stern, stating, “I’m not his watcher. He’s a grown man.”
The couple was investigated by child services for a picture of Willow that went viral.
Pinkett Smith later noted that she was fine with Smith’s behavior, “as long as Will can look himself in the mirror and be okay.”
Many have speculated that Smith pursued Margot Robbie, his co-star in “Suicide Squad.” Smith has also appeared in public without his wedding band.
Pinkett Smith has also been accused of cheating on Smith with Marc Anthony, her HawthoRNe co-star.
The New York Daily News added that rumors of marital problems have surrounded the couple for the past four years.
A source said, “They tried to fix things with therapy, [but] it’s not happening.”
Another individual commented, “They’re already moving on with their lives. All that’s left is the inking of the divorce papers.”
An attorney was sanctioned in his own divorce.
However, USMagazine.com added that Pinkett Smith recently commented on rumors the couple has had to face over the years. “Every year there’s a new one,” she allegedly said over the divorce speculation. She continued “And I’m like ‘Here we go. Get ready. Are ya holdin’ on tight?’”
