For the past seven years Britney Spears’ father has been overseeing her financial and personal matters. Sources say the conservatorship has been successful so it will continue. After Spears’ mental crisis in 2008, her father filed an emergency petition to be able to care for her. She was under a psychiatric hold during that time.
Spears’ is looked after by a team of medical personnel, lawyers, and family members. Under the agreement, Spears has the freedom to make her day-to-day choices. Since her mental break, Spears has invested her time and energy into raising her two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Her sons, Sean, 9, and Jayden, 8, just returned from a vacation in Hawaii last month.
The newly single performer has a nightly show at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas where she performs a stage show of “Britney: Piece of Me.” Spears split from boyfriend Charlie Ebersol in June.
From 2007 to 2008, Spears has had a difficult time. February 2007 was the famous month where Spears shaved her head and got two new tattoos in the same day. After a year of going back and forth in court with legal requirements for drug testing and childproofing in July of 2008, Spears and Federline finally reached a custody agreement. Since the conservatorship and more custody rights for Spears, she appears to have gotten better.
