The new office of Perkins Coie in San Francisco is a new and much larger space at 505 Howard Street. The new office space will allow for collaboration and greater client service with a cutting-edge conference center, shared work spaces in an open floor plan, informal gathering places, and an outdoor deck.
There are 100 attorneys and staff that will be working from this office. The firm grew 17 percent in from 2013 to 2014, bringing top laterals in for all practice areas. The new building was designed with sustainable features that enhance energy efficiency and a safer, healthier work environment. The ground floor lobby boosts floor to ceiling walls of living plants, around 12,500 in total.
They will occupy the top three floors and is hoping to achieve Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification. LEED is a green building program that awards best-in-class building practices and strategies with a certification. Buildings have to comply with prerequisites and earn points for each level.
Some of the features of the office include equally sized offices for all attorneys, open floor plan shared work spaces on all three floors, an outdoor deck with raised grass and rock gardens, a lobby with a glass walled conference room that can be opened for larger events, technology in each multi-use room for client meetings and attorney-team interactions, an executive board room with a table made from reclaimed elm that came from San Jose State University, coffee lounges on each floor with seating for informal and impromptu discussions, and offices with glass walls to maximize natural light in interior hallways and spaces.
