Summary: Today I decided to share 10 things about myself that you most likely didn’t already know.
I’ve seen several other bloggers doing this type of post recently and it has definitely inspired me to do the same! When I’m reading someone’s blog I always come back because I want to hear their STORY, in addition to the content and value that they contribute. So today I’m going to share a little bit about me!
1. I was born in Kansas City, MO and although I lived in Missouri, I grew up about 100 yards from Kansas. Up until about middle school we didn’t even need to dial area codes when calling friends!
2. I grew up going to a summer camp in Minnesota, where I learned to sail and eventually became a sailing instructor. I miss it so much!
3. I am the middle child between two brothers. What’s even more interesting is my mom was also the middle child between two brothers!
4. I sponsor a child with Compassion International! It’s an amazing organization. For a small amount each month you can make a huge difference in a child’s life. What I love the most is that I can send him letters, photos and small gifts, and I’ll receive letters back from him!
5. I have visited 4 countries outside the U.S., and didn’t travel overseas until I was 26! I’ve been to the Bahamas, the British Virgin Islands, France and Spain!
6. I grew up in the time of cassette tapes, floppy disks and VHS. My very first cassette tape was TLC! “Don’t go chasin’ waterfalls…”
7. Throughout my life I have played a LOT of organized sports. I was horrible at all of them. I’ve done: ballet, gymnastics, tennis, golf, swimming, soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball, and field hockey. Actually, I also played in a skeeball league, but I’m not sure how “competitive” that was.
8. My first “real job” (aka paid a pay check and reported it on taxes), was in a research library at UMKC. My job was literally to move books from the old wing to the new wing, keeping them in order.
9. One of my favorite artists is Deborah Butterfield!
10. One of my goals in life is to visit all 50 states. So far I’ve visited 31! Only 19 more to go.
