Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane is not willing to step down from her position of power, declaring she is innocent. She instead points fingers at her enemies, saying they are trying to turn the focus away from their involvement in emails filled with “racial insensitivity, pornography, and religious bigotry.”

Kane has been charged with perjury, conspiracy, obstruction, official oppression, and more crimes. Her head of security and personal driver Patrick Reese has also been charged with illegally reading emails of those involved in the grand jury investigation.

Kane is the first woman Democrat to be elected as attorney general. She allegedly leaked information about a grand jury investigation and then lied that she did so. She has been asked to step down by Gov. Wolf and other officials.

In her first appearance since the charges were brought against her, she turned the focus onto the Porngate scandal. Kane claims that her staff has been exchanging pornographic emails during state time on state computers. She says the exchanges started before she came into office. She believes that her efforts to stop this from happening have made enemies that want to get back at her.

Critics say the porn email scandal has nothing to do with her own charges and is trying to misdirect the attention away from her own misconduct.
