Summary: Former Ravens cheerleader Molly Shattuck only has to serve every other weekend for almost two years in a correctional facility since her public humiliation has been punishment enough.
A Delaware judge went easy on the former Ravens cheerleader that first gained public attention for being the oldest cheerleader in the NFL. Molly Shattuck sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy that was a friend of her son’s at a beach house.
Shattuck admitted to performing oral sex on the boy, pleading guilty to the one count of fourth-degree rape from a plea deal. She had been facing several other charges. During the trial and sentencing hearing, she appeared remorseful but that could also be fear of going to prison that made her shaken.
As part of her sentence, Shattuck must register as a sex offender in Delaware and Maryland, pay $10,000 in restitution, and cannot be around children under 18 except for her three kids. She must first report to a violation-of-probation center in Delaware on September 5 but the order does not specify which one.
While it is not fair that her children be punished for their mother’s actions, it is not fair that Shattuck’s sentence is so accommodating when she admitted to raping a child and grooming him for three months before the incident occurred.
