Summary: Planned Parenthood and their partner company StemExpress are facing tight scrutiny after several videos have exposed some illegal practices they companies participate in.
In the latest undercover video released by the Center for Medical Progress, a confession from the CEO of StemExpress Cate Dyer is alarming. Her statements in the video reveal that aborted babies are actually “born alive” and kept as intact specimens that have beating hearts.
The CMP has released a series of videos exposing the illegal practices that Planned Parenthood and their partner company StemExpress engage in. The videos obtained by CMP as undercover buyers had exposed Planned Parenthood officials admitting to the illegal methods of procuring fetal tissue, delivering intact fetuses, and selling fetal tissue for profit. A former procurement technician also testified that StemExpress did not always gain permission from the mothers to take tissue from the aborted fetus.
StemExpress has attempted to have the videos blocked but a judge denied their request. They have successfully obtained two restraining orders against CMP. StemExpress is a company based in California that supplies biomedical researchers’ with human blood, cells, and tissue products. They have announced that they are cutting ties with Planned Parenthood.
Dyer is heard stating in the video that the company handles intact specimens. The conversation then moves to how specimens CMP is able to get and needs to be “happy.” Dyer states she would like “another 50 livers a week. We’re working with almost, like, triple-digit-number clinics, and we still need more.”
Planned Parenthood still adamantly denies any wrong doing even though four clinics in Florida were found to have violated laws and they are caught on video discussing the profits from the aborted fetuses. Many other states have started investigations into the clinics. Anti-abortion activists and Republicans have been calling for the halt in federal funding to the organization until changes are made to their policies.
Women’s health supporters have fought the stop of funding to the clinic, believing that the clinic is the only option for women to receive healthcare.
