Fox News Anchor Harris Faulkner Doesn’t Appreciate Being a Toy Hamster

Summary: Hasbro Inc. has produced a toy hamster as part of their Littlest Pet Shop line that shares the same name as Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner.

A Fox News anchor has been given the honor of having a children’s toy named after her. However, Harris Faulkner doesn’t seem as excited about the privilege. She has filed a $5 million lawsuit against the maker of the toy, Hasbro Inc.

The toy hamster is part of the Littlest Pet Shop line from Hasbro. The other characters include Honey Badgeley, a badger; Bitsy Mudinksy, a piglet; and Benson Detwyler, a terrier. The hamster is described as having a lock of brown hair and bulging eyes.

Faulkner claims in her suit that Hasbro “willfully and wrongfully appropriated [her] unique and valuable name and distinctive persona for its own financial gain. In addition to its prominent and unauthorized use of Faulkner’s name, elements of the Harris Faulkner Hamster Doll also bear resemblance to Faulkner’s traditional professional appearance, in particular tone of its complexion, the shape of its eyes, and the design of its eye makeup.”

Faulkner won an Emmy for her broadcasting and appears on the Fox Report and Outnumbered. She is “distressed that her name has been wrongly associated with a plastic toy that is a known choking hazard that risks harming small children.” Hasbro denies her last allegation and strongly verifies that all of their toys, especially the accused Littlest Pet Shop line, not only meet but exceed all safety standards.
