Summary: While Leaford George Cameron may have creepy eyes, he seems to have won over the hearts of multiple clients when running a fraudulent law practice.
Leaford George Cameron didn’t learn the first he was caught impersonating an attorney in 2013. Now the New Jersey man has been indicted by U.S. Attorney Zane Memeger for mail fraud, wire fraud and false statements.
When Cameron was arrested the first time starting his creepy eye fame, he was asked if he was licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, his response was he should be. Cameron has been running a fraudulent law practice since 2003. Authorities estimate he has defrauded around 74 clients that were residents of India, Jamaica, Illinois, Florida, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
While running his fake law practice, Cameron even appeared in court before judges that must have been afraid of his eyes. His cases involved mostly immigration issues. If Cameron is convicted on all charges, he could face 75 years in prison.
Homeland Security Investigations in Philadelphia will now investigate to determine if there are more victims. Special agent, John P. Kelleghan, states, “The longevity of Cameron’s alleged fraud, the amount of victims already identified, and far reaching impact in this case is staggering. HSI will continue to investigate and seek out those who may have fallen prey to this alleged imposter’s scheme.”
