Summary: Big Law firm Jackson Lewis is the first to make a move for the Jersey Shore for its convenience to New York City and abundance of businesses to support the firm.
Jackson Lewis may be the first AmLaw 100 firm to open a permanent location in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Managing shareholder of the Morristown and Monmouth County offices, Richard Cino, said,” I think you see a lot of corporate executives that not only work locally to the area, but also use Monmouth County as an area of residency because there is easy access to New York City by ferry or train.”
The firm has 750 lawyers that specialize in labor and employment issues. Recently they hired five attorneys from Giordano Halleran & Ciesla in in February. One of those five was co-chair of the labor and employment practice, Joseph C. DeBlasio.
The Jersery Shore office has been working out of the Morristown office until a temporary space was found in May. A permanent location will be finalized next week in Tinton Falls. While it will be a 15-minute drive to the beach, DeBlasio says it will be close enough. The office is about 45 minutes from where Season 1 was filmed of the reality show Jersey Shore.
The area that the firm will be located is large for retail, hospitality, and manufacturing businesses. Specific companies with offices near the firm are Lockheed Martin, Meridian Health System, Inc., and Liberty Mutual.
