Summary: A Hillary Clinton campaign worker allegedly showed Hispanic voters a Donald Trump meme to get them to vote for the former secretary of state.
Henry Engelstein wanted Hillary Clinton to be president, and he broke the law to do it!
Engelstein, a Clinton campaign worker in Las Vegas, was caught on film advising Hispanic voters to choose Clinton while helping them register to vote. In Nevada, advocating for or against a candidate during registration is a Class E felony, according to The Daily Mail. Engelstein could face a jail term between one and four years.
In the hidden camera footage, Engelstein is seen showing Hispanic potential voters a meme on his smart phone of Donald Trump. In huge letters, it says, “This is my resting bitch face.â€
The video was shown to The Daily Mail by conservative group Project Veritas Action. In the video, Engelstein says in Spanish, “Un payaso muy grande, si!†which means “Yes, a giant clown!†It appears Engelstein intended to use Trump’s unlikeability in the Hispanic community to get people to vote.
To recap, Trump has said the following about Latinos:
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you… They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.â€
Recently The Washington Post published a poll that Hispanic voters dislike Donald Trump but still like the Republican Party.
Engelstein also expressed his enthusiasm for the former secretary of state.
In Spanish, he said, “’Hillary Clinton is very good. We are working for Hillary’s campaign here in Las Vegas. I need the support of people in the community.â€
Later, Engelstein is seen waving over a colleague and expressing how easy it is to get people to sign up to vote after he flashes the Donald Trump meme. The video can be seen below:
Project Veritas is run by conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe. According to The Daily Mail, the group released a video earlier this month showing Engelstein and colleague Harrison Lee attempting to sway voters in front of a library. They ended up getting kicked out by a library employee who stated what they were doing was illegal. The campaign workers later went to attorney Christina Gupana, a Clinton support, for advice.
“You should just hide all that stuff,†she said on the video.
Worse, the video also shows her advising someone to solicit in a government building, an illegal practice.
“Do whatever you can, whatever you can get away with,†Gupana said. “Just do it until you get kicked out, like, totally.â€
Gupana is now under investigation by the Nevada Secretary of State because of the video.
