Summary: Two high-profile partners are joining the tax and litigation departments at Honigman in Chicago.
Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP is wasting no time jumping into the Chicago market. They are continuing to expand their capabilities to serve the Chicago area with the addition of two partners.
David Koropp, formerly with Winston & Strawn, will be joining the litigation team. The team already includes several attorneys from the high-end litigation boutique Schopf & Weiss, which Honigman acquired in June.
Koropp is a trial lawyer who has successfully represented clients for 26 years in class action, real estate, commercial, antitrust, patent litigation, accounting/audit and liability matters. He earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law and his B.A. from the University of Illinois.
Ilan Napchan is leaving Kirkland & Ellis LLP to join the tax practice at Honigman.
Napchan will give Honigman more versatility in its corporate merger and acquisition deals. He will focus on tax aspects of cross-border and complex domestic transactions like mergers, leveraged buyouts, acquisitions, recapitalizations, and joint ventures. He has worked for Goldman Sachs and Bank of America. He earned his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and his B.S. from Northwestern University in Industrial Engineering.
