Summary: IP superstar William A. Tanenbaum is joining Arent Fox in New York.
Arent Fox attracted a new partner to its Corporate & Securities group this past week. William A. Tanenbaum will also lead the firm’s Technology Transaction practice and be a member of the Health Care group.
Mr. Tanenbaum’s practice will focus on cybersecurity, technology, and intellectual property, emphasizing litigation, transactions, data-driven business, and strategic IP counseling. While Tanenbaum will work from the New York office, he will also practice out of the California office.
Tanenbaum is ranked by Chambers America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in New York as Band One in Technology & Outsourcing and Band Two nationally. His peers elected him “Lawyer of the Year” in 2013 for IT in New York. He’s also been named in the Top 30 Information Technology Lawyers in the US, and has received a “Life Science Star” for his Health Care work, an “IP Star,” and a “CleanTech 100” designation.
He has been recognized from 2002-2016 in The Best Lawyers in America for Information Technology Law. IP Law Experts Guide regards him as the “Recommended IT Lawyer in New York.” His awards and recognitions are numerous.
Tanenbaum earned his J.D. from Cornell University Law School and his B.A. from Brown University. He was a partner at Kaye Scholer LLP, where he was also Head of the IP and Technology Transaction Group. He has also been a partner at Kenyon & Kenyon.
