The Donald keeps using “Dream On,” one of Aerosmith’s most famous songs, during his presidential campaign rallies. According to TMZ.com, Steven Tyler thinks that Donald Trump’s audacity is “crazy.”

Tyler recently sent a cease and desist letter to Trump. It was the second time the star requested Trump stop using the tune. According to Tyler’s lawyers, they initially sent a letter in August, but Trump ignored it.
Trump continues to blast the song, and even played it as recently as this past weekend in Georgia. Tyler is worried listeners will hear the song and assume the band endorses Trump’s presidential campaign.
Tyler’s attorneys have demanded that Trump stop using the song within 24 hours or present some sort of proof that he has received a license to use it.

Interestingly, Tyler and Trump have been buddies for a while now. In fact, he and Joey Kramer, Aerosmith’s drummer, attended the Republican debate in Cleveland as guests of Trump, and Tyler is a registered Republican. Trump has also rocked out during a few Aerosmith concerts (we’re not sure if he is a headbanger though).
Hollywood Reporter adds that Tyler was previously a judge at Trump’s Miss USA Pageant. Allegedly the pals even took a trip to Russia together at one point. Have the sweet emotions between these pals faded?
Many wonder if the feud is a publicity stunt. According to Tyler’s attorney, Dina LaPolt, Tyler’s “position has always been consistent regarding copyright and intellectual property. Simply, one must get permission from the music creators. Steven wrote 100% of ‘Dream On,’ and this is about the un-authorized use of his property.”
Two years ago, the New York Attorney General sued Trump over his bogus “Trump University.”
This isn’t the first time that Trump has ruffled a rock star’s feathers. According to Fortune, Neil Young and REM both asked the business mogul to stop using their songs. Young has emphatically expressed his support for Bernie Sanders, a Democratic presidential candidate.
