Summary: Downtown Austin is enjoying the addition of major law firms to the city, including Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman’s move into the Frost Bank Tower.
Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP first moved into Austin, Texas in one year ago. They set up shop at the Chase Tower in a 2,100 square-foot space with four attorneys. They are now moving into an expansive 14,000 square-foot space in the Frost Bank Tower.
The San-Francisco based law firm has seen unexpected success in the city, causing them to lease several offices in a downtown Regus facility. With everyone working in one office there will be 17 attorneys, one patent agent, and other professional staff for a total of 26. This large office space will allow the firm to grow more if they need to.
Just this year, Pillsbury has added seven partners to the team, with four joining from Bracewell & Giuliani in January. That addition further strengthened their intellectual property expertise in disputes that span technology, engineering, and the electronics industry.
The founding partner of the Austin office, Chris McNevin, attributes their success to the background of their new hires, “We’ve grown in part because everyone we have here has deep roots in Austin. Truly, everybody here has a deep reason to be here or has practiced their entire career here.”

Their lease in the Frost Tower goes through 2021, so they will be there for the long haul.
