TCU Star Quarterback Suspended After Bar Fight

The star quarterback at TCU was arrested and suspended after striking a police officer outside a popular local bar. Trevone Boykin allegedly struck a bicycle patrol officer in San Antonio. He was then suspended by the school soon after.

Boykin went to the bar with a group of friends but became upset with bar employees. He was described as being “very aggressive and was being held back” by the group of friends after a fight the employees. When he was kicked out of the bar, an officer was attempting to separate Boykin from the employees when his friends said “they would get him back to the hotel” so the officer was not going to arrest him.

The group of friends started to walk away with Boykin while the officer turned his back to talk with the employees. Boykin broke away from the group and ran back, swinging at one of the officers while the other officers taking him to the ground. Boykin continued to struggle against the officers where he was threatened with being tased.

He has been charged with third-degree felony for assaulting the officer and other charges of resisting arrest and public intoxication. His bond was set at $5,000.

Boykin was supposed to play in the Alamo Bowl game on Saturday against Oregon. TCU is also without their wide receiver, Preston Miller, who was also suspended. He is a senior, considered to be one of the best players in college right now. He will enter the 2016 NFL Draft.
