A Kentucky Planned Parenthood has been caught trying to perform abortions at the clinic without a license. The Louisville, Kentucky facility has since been sued by Gov. Matt Bevin but they claim his lawsuit is politically motivated and should be dismissed.
Planned Parenthood Takes a Hit in Oklahoma
The clinic is being accused of performing 23 abortions without a license. They are defending the abortions by citing emails between their lawyer and the former Gov. Steve Beshear’s administration giving them permission to perform abortions without a license. Beshear was pro-abortion whereas Bevin is pro-life.
The clinic opened in December and applied for an abortion license soon after. In late January, Bevin’s office discovered that the clinic was performing surgical and medical abortions with receiving a license to do so. They were sent a “cease and desist” order and stopped performing the abortions.
Four Planned Parenthood’s in Florida Hit with Citations
The Cabinet for Health and Family Services filed the lawsuit, seeking $900,000 in fines for the violations. The abortions happened between December 3 and January 28. The lawsuit further explains how the clinic tried to rush their application for an abortion license while Gov. Beshear was still in office. Former Inspector General Maryellen Mynear is also accused in the lawsuit of attempting to aid Planned Parenthood in a “scheme to accelerate the licensure process.”
The clinic believed they had permission to perform the procedures but they seemed to be hiding the fact. A spokesperson for Planned Parenthood says the clinic was just protecting patients and staff by not publicizing that they were doing abortions at the facility already.

The current administration had not given the clinic the abortion license yet because there was not an agreement between the local hospital and ambulance service for emergency situations in place.
