Summary: The mother of singer Kesha told her side of the story regarding her daughter’s abuse by the hands of producer Dr. Luke in an interview.
Another member of the Kesha vs Dr. Luke showdown is speaking out. Kesha’s mother, Rosemary Patricia “Pebe” Sebert opened up during an interview with Billboard about her daughter’s alleged abuse by music producer Dr. Luke.

Sebert claims, “It was like someone who beats you every day and hangs you from a chain and then comes in and gives you a piece of bread. Luke would say, ‘You look nice today,’ and send her into hysterics of happiness because she was programmed to expect nothing but abuse.” Christine Lepera, Luke’s attorney shot back a statement, “Any claim of duress in connection with that testimony is simply absurd… The vicious smear campaign to extort Luke and damage him and his family is inexcusable.”
During the interview, Sebert says she went against her better judgement and let Kesha keep working with Dr. Luke after the alleged rape. She explains, “I wanted Kesha to come forward a long time ago and end this relationship with Dr. Luke immediately after the rape. But if she wanted to have a shot at the music business, she had no choice but [to work with him].” There is one specific incident that Sebert recalls, “I do remember her calling me from the plane telling me that she was so drunk, and Dr. Luke came over and started making out with her and was all over her. She told me she felt terrible and was trying to get away from him and then vomited.”

Sebert goes on to claim that the more successful Kesha became, the worse Luke treated her. “This is when Luke started getting really hateful. He saw her has a cash cow and started manipulating her all the time.”
Last month, a court ordered Kesha to stay under her contract with Luke.
