Summary: A lawyer wanted to arrest a Florida stripper for not having paid sex with him.
Did nobody tell retired lawyer John L. Ciardi that there’s no sex in the champagne room? According to Keys Info Net, the retired Massachusetts lawyer threatened a citizen’s arrest against a Key West, Florida stripper after she refused to have paid sex with him.
Ciardi, 62, was getting his groove on inside of the Living Dolls strip club when he decided to order private services from stripper Marianny Benitez. She told police that he gave her $100 at first, and she performed a private dance for him. Then he gave her $200 for a little extra lovin’, and although she kept the money, she refused to have sex with the sexagenarian. Upset, he demanded a refund, but Benitez wouldn’t give it to him. Instead, she went to her manager, Marisa Hernandez, who said she could keep the money.
Hernandez spoke to the police and said she would not give Ciardi a refund and that caused him to become “aggressive.” She said he threatened to physically hurt the stripper and destroy the club’s property unless he got his money back. That’s when she called the police.
Officer Jesse Hammers arrived on the scene. By then Ciardi was waiting outside of the club, instead of fleeing like a normal human being who was about to get caught for soliciting prostitution. In Hammers’ police report, he said Ciardi wanted to go back inside and make a “citizen’s arrest” but Hammer told him if he did, he would be arrested instead.
Still feeling fleeced, Ciardi vowed to return at a later date to make his citizen’s arrest, Hammers reported. Eventually, though, the angry probably blue-balled lawyer stormed off “unsatisfied,” according to the police report.
Benitez and Hernandez did not pursue charges against Ciardi. The club, which is described on Yelp as specializing in “Private 1 on 1 Rooms and All Nude Modeling,” seems to face a few angry men based on its filtered Yelp reviews, but that hasn’t seemed to stop the club, which the review site says has been open for 14 years.
According to The Spectrum, Ciardi was disbarred in Utah after an initial 2011 complaint for disorderly conduct. After his disbarment, he relocated to Massachusetts and practiced there.
Ciardi could not be reached by Keys Info Net for comment.
