5 Fun Workout Classes to Mix Up Your Routine

Summary: Is your workout stuck in a rut? Try one of these five fun classes to mix things up.

People these days love flexibility and being able to pick and choose what they want, rather than being stuck in one thing, especially when it comes to exercise. Options like Class Pass where you don’t have to become a member of just one studio are very popular, and with the competition in the fitness world, new and interesting classes are popping up all the time. Here are five workout classes that you can take advantage of to mix up your workout routine.

  1. Orangetheory

“The physiological theory behind the Orangetheory workout is known as “Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption,” or EPOC. By providing you with a heart-rate monitor and POD, we can monitor your 5-zone interval training sessions that we call the Orange 60. During the 60-minute workout, you will perform multiple intervals designed to produce 12 to 20 minutes of training at 84% or higher of your maximum heart rate, which translates to Zones 4/5. This program design produces workout “afterburn” effect, which is an increased metabolic rate for 24 to 36 hours after the workout. When combining the amazing workout with EPOC, our clients burn an average of 500 to 1000 calories.

The Orangetheory workout will produce increased muscle Endurance, Strength and Power and if desired, tremendous weight loss. With energetic music, a talented group of fitness coaches and a high-energy studio, you have the recipe for a workout that produces BIG and LASTING results.” – Orangetheory Fitness

  1. Aerial Yoga

“Forget flips, tricks, and gimmicks; Unnata Aerial Yoga is the evolution of yogic tradition.

Unnata Yoga offers authentic yoga with the support of a soft, aerial fabric hammock to explore, refine and advance traditional asana, both in the air and on the ground.

Why fight gravity? Unnata Yoga works with gravity to relax and realign the body, center the mind and uplift the spirit.

You’ll get a ‘yoga high’ by deepening your practice: experience physical release, refined strength, energetic flow, and heightened awareness of breath, body and bandhas. Newcomers learn practical postural fundamentals while discovering how yoga enlightens your life.” – Unnata Aerial Yoga

  1. TRX & Cycle

“Want more than just cycling? Try our Combo classes: GO Pump, GO Sculpt, GO YO, GO TRX and GO Boot Camp. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) like indoor cycling is one of the most effective workouts possible. Resistance training intervals offer even more cardio benefits while boosting your afterburn, the calorie-torching metabolism boost that lasts long after your workout! You’ll never need your old gym again; these combo classes will work you from the inside out!” – Go Cycle

  1. Shred415

“At Shred415, you can choose to start on the decks or our top-quality Woodway treadmills. Either way, you’ll spend the same amount of time on both during class. On the treadmills, you’ll be put through a series of aerobic and anaerobic drills followed by periods of recovery—all intended to get your heart rate up and bring it back down. Intervals in class vary between 5, 10 or 15 minutes.

On the floor, you’ll work your muscles with endurance-based strength training and also work your cardiovascular system with short cardio bursts—a great way to elevate your heart rate without having to get back on the treadmill.

This type of interval training has proven to increase endurance and increase caloric burn resulting in a stronger, faster and leaner physique.” – Shred415
