Old Spice claims it wants you to “Improve your mansmells,” but a recent lawsuit claims the deodorant burns your armpits instead.
New York Daily News reports that a class action lawsuit has been filed against the “mark of a man” deodorant. Earlier this month, plaintiffs alleged that Old Spice left agonizing rashes and marks on thousands of men who had allergic reactions to the Proctor & Gamble product.
The lawsuit claims Proctor & Gamble, based in Cincinnati, knew of the complaints but chose to ignore them. The suit was filed by Alexandria, VA-man, Rodney Colley, who says he suffered from burns and rashes after using Old Spice “only a few times.”

Court papers include pictures of Colley’s injuries, along with enraged internet comments from Old Spice consumers from the past two years. Some of those internet comments included pictures of their burnt, bruised pits.
“Shame on you Procter and Gamble for continuing to produce this product with all these reviews, and without warning!!!” one online commenter said.
Proctor & Gamble spokesman Damon Jones tried to downplay the damage. He said only “a small number of men” see problems from Old Spice, and if they do, it’s because they have “alcohol sensitivity.”
Colley and his legal team at Connick Law encourage others to join the lawsuit if they’ve encountered similar agony while trying to “smell like a man, man.” The suit wants a trial and is seeking $25,000 in damages for every victim.
