Summary: A Kansas City man claims he is Prince’s long lost son.
The plot thickens in the battle for Prince’s estate. According to US Weekly, a Kansas City man has stepped forward, claiming he is the son of the late singer and thus the only heir to his inheritance.
Carlin Williams claims that his mother Marsha Henson had unprotected sex with the singer in 1976 in a hotel room in Kansas City. He requested a paternity test in Carver County, Minnesota to prove that he is Prince’s son.
Prince died on April 21, 2016. After an autopsy, his body was cremated, but a local judge had the foresight to request a blood sample beforehand, anticipating an onslaught of parental claims. On May 6, the judge authorized use of the “Purple Rain” singer’s blood to be used for paternity testing.

As of now, Prince has no known living children.
On April 26, we reported that Prince’s full-sister Tyka Nelson filed papers in probate court, stating that Prince did not have a will. Since then, a will has yet to resurface. If it turns out Prince did not have a will, his estate would be equally divided between Nelson and his half-siblings. However, if Williams turns out to be Prince’s son, he would be the sole legal heir, according to his court papers.
Prince’s reported assets include a dozen properties around his famous Paisley Park complex in Minneapolis that total to about $27 million. The person or people in charge of his estate will also be entitled to future earnings from licensing his personal brand. AP reported that Prince does not have any liens or debts on file.
