Summary: After only fifteen months of marriage, actress Amber Heard has filed for divorce from Johnny Depp.
It was a May-December romance that wasn’t meant to be. Just three days after his mother died, Johnny Depp, 52, was hit with divorce papers from his wife Amber Heard, 30.
According to TMZ, the filing stated that Depp and Heard had separated on May 22. The website said there was speculation that Depp’s family hated the beautiful blonde starlet, and the animosity proved to be too much for her.
The couple was last seen in April in an incredibly awkward video they made as an apology to Australia for allegedly smuggling in their dogs. In the video, the two woodenly praise Australia in an obviously scripted speech that fascinated the internet with its weirdness. (See below.)

The pair did not sign a prenuptial agreement, TMZ said. With Depp’s years of starring roles in blockbusters such as Pirates of the Carribean, 21 Jump Street, and Edward Scissorheads, he has amassed a fortune of almost $400 million. Heard, whose career has yet to match Depp’s, is rumored to be asking for spousal support. Depp has reportedly asked the judge not to grant her the money.
Heard met Depp on the set of The Rum Diary in 2011. They married in February on Depp’s private island in the Bahamas.
Depp was previously in a long-term relationship with model Vanessa Paradis, 43. They have two children together.
