Summary: A former colleague is accusing Fordham theater professor Matthew Maguire of inappropriate sexual behavior.
A crazy new lawsuit claims a Fordham theater professor “masturbated with a snake”! Was the suit referring to a reptile or the professor’s penis? So many questions…
The New York Post reports that theater director Matthew Maguire, 63, has been accused of being sex-obsessed by a former colleague who reported his alleged inappropriate behavior and was subsequently fired. The lawsuit alleges that Matthew “Wild Man” Maguire came on to anything female in his proximity, and that he boasted of bedding “hundreds of women.”
The lawsuit was filed by his former inferior Kris Stone, an associate professor who claimed Maguire started every faculty meeting with a 20 minute speech about sex. Stone also said Maguire boasted he had an open marriage.
Maguire’s boasting went so far as to him creating a play about his sex life called “Wild Man.” He allegedly required that people of the department attend. The lawsuit also said he required faculty and “attractive female students” to go on dates with him and that he claimed to have “sex with students.”
Stone said students came to her because they were scared. In addition to sexing his students, he allegedly made them act out sexual acts such as rape, masturbation, and anal sex on stage. Stone reported his behavior to department chair Elizabeth Margid, and the lawsuit said Margid did nothing to reprimand the sexy professor. Instead, Stone was not asked back to Fordham the following year, even though she had been teaching for three years prior.
A Fordham representation said they hired a private investigator to verify Stone’s claims and found them to be without merit.
Stone is seeking damages and claiming sex discrimination and harassment. She is suing the university and Chair Margid.
