A witness saw something they didn’t quite expect outside the city of Joplin, Missouri. A couple was spotted riding a lawn mower while in the nude around 8:30 AM down a Missouri road. The lawn mower happened to be stolen.

Tanya Hopper, 40, and Larry Webster, 55, were arrested for felony theft. The 911 call reported that a naked man was driving a lawn mower with a woman, who was also naked, in his lap. The couple claimed they had been skinny dipping in nearby Turkey Creek. They allege that an unidentified man came out of the woods to steal their clothes so rather than walk home, they drove the lawn mower that they claim was left abandoned in the woods.
Jasper County Sheriff’s Office deputies found Hopper and Webster outside a friend’s residence with the lawn mower parked nearby. Since the couple does not own the $5,000 Kubota “zero-turn radius” model mower, they were picked up for the felony charge. The owner of the mower told the cops that the mower was parked on his property, not in the woods.
Hopper and Webster were released from custody on $500 bond each.
