Summary: A Tampa, Florida man was arrested for poking his “organ” through a bathroom divider where another man was using the toilet.
Seventy-five-year-old Jerry Childress appears to be an innocent church man. He had played the organ for the Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church for over a decade without incident.
The church organist is now facing an indecent exposure charge for putting his penis in the divider of the bathroom wall until someone reacted. A city worker just happened to be the person in the other stall. The worker was operating a street sweeper on July 12 when he needed to stop to use the restroom. He stopped at a park in Tampa suburb Brooksville.

While the worker was in the stall, another man entered the restroom and went into the stall next to him. It was soon after that he then noticed the private parts of the other man poking through the divider of the wall. He confronted the man who “promptly exited the restroom and fled the scene on foot.” The worker called 911 but officers were unable to find the suspect. The worker went back to work sweeping the streets in the area when he noticed the same man exit the woods nearby. The man got into his car and drove away but not without the worker following him in his street sweeper. The worker followed the man to the Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church and called the police again.
Police questioned the man, Childress, who “admitted the entire incident.” He was then arrested for indecent exposure and released on $1,000 bond. His next court hearing is August 10.

Childress’s LinkedIn page states, “I am the Principle organist for the church which is a paid position, but I do it because of my love of playing organ music and giving my gift back to God.” His Facebook page explains that he was divorced in 2008 but remarried in 2013.
The church has removed his photo and biography from their website. Before the information was removed, it said he “leads worship on Sunday morning” and that his “prelude pieces mark the service with dignity and splendor as the gathering worshippers prepare their hearts for corporate praise.”
