Summary: Johnny Depp reportedly has asked 20 people to testify in his divorce proceedings that he never abused Amber Heard.
Johnny Depp is reportedly prepping an army to battle his soon-to-be-ex-wife Amber Heard in divorce proceedings. Express UK said that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor has asked nearly 20 witnesses to testify on his behalf and disprove Heard’s claims that he abused her.
In May, Heard, 30, filed for divorce from Depp, 53, just days after his mother passed away. While the timing appeared to be cruel, the divorce got even nastier when Heard filed for a restraining order and claimed that he had hit her in the face with a cell phone. She added that he had also verbally and physically abused her throughout their relationship and 15-month marriage.
Depp has vehemently denied the charges, and his family and friends have said publicly that Depp is not an abuser.
Possible witnesses for Depp include two security guards and the former couple’s housekeeper Hilda Vargas.

This weekend, Heard was expected to give a deposition, according to The Mirror; but so far she has not testified. The publication said she arrived on Saturday for her deposition but she was never sworn in. Instead, it was rumored that she was put in another room while her lawyers tried to reach a settlement with Depp’s legal team.
After nine hours of talk, however, the dueling parties had not yet reached an agreement.
Heard is represented by Samantha Spector.
Depp is represented by Laura Wasser.
