For those wanting to work or for those with family responsibilities, a part-time law program is often a better choice than the traditional full-time ones. But which schools are attracting the most people? U.S. News and World Reports recently published a list of the top 10 part-time law programs with the most applicants, and the numbers are a good indicator of the program’s popularity.
Out of the ten, the majority of the schools were in the Washington DC area, with New York following closely behind. Georgetown University dominated the list with the most applications, almost doubling the second place’s numbers.
U.S. News and World Reports’ Top 10 Law Schools with the Most Part-Time Applicants
Georgetown University in Washington, DC received 1,509 part-time applications in 2015, and it is ranked the number one part-time law program by U.S. News.
Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles is the 11th best part-time program according to U.S.News, and it received 842 part-time applications.
William Mitchell College of Law in Minnesota received 779 part-time applications in 2015.
George Washington University is the 3rd best part-time program according to U.S. News, and the Washington DC school attracted 550 part-time applications in 2015.
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey received 500 applications for its part-time program in 2015.
Fordham University in New York is U.S. News’ 2nd best part-time program, which helped it attract 500 applicants in 2015.
George Mason University in Virginia is in close proximity to Washington, DC, and that helped it gain 494 applications in 2015. U.S. News ranks it number four in its list of best part-time programs.
American University in Washington, DC saw 487 part-time applications in 2015.
New York Law School saw 455 apply for its part-time program in 2015.
Brooklyn Law School in New York is ranked number 20 in U.S. News’ list of best part-time programs. It saw 404 part-time applications in 2015.
