On Wednesday, Vincent Bordini filed a civil lawsuit against the Trump campaign and his former boss, North Carolina campaign director Earl Phillip. Bordini said that in February when he and Phillip were in a car together, Phillip took out a loaded gun and pressed it to Bordini’s kneecap.

Bordini also said that this was not the first time Phillip wielded a weapon. In his lawsuit, he said that Phillip pulled a gun on at least four other Trump workers, and that his gun use and violent temperament were common knowledge.

Bordini said that the Trump national campaign leadership ignored his complaint, and he is now seeking damages for emotional distress.

“Vincent couldn’t sleep after the incident. If Phillip had flinched, Vincent might have never been able to properly walk again,” the lawsuit said.

In the lawsuit, Bordini said that he was so fearful of Phillip that he moved his family so that they would be harder to find. He said he eventually resigned in March due to stress inflicted by his boss.

“Vincent became disgusted with the Trump campaign’s lack of corrective action. He could no longer tolerate working in an environment where his superior could pull a gun on him at any moment,” the lawsuit said.

Philip was hired as the North Carolina state campaign director and as a chair for Trump’s National Diversity Coalition. Because of the lawsuit, he told Fox News that he has stepped down from his positions until everything cleared up.
