Summary: Rapper Lil Wayne’s protégé Lil Twist is headed to jail, giving the star another bad headline to his name.
Rapper Lil Wayne has had a tough few years. Publicity has been more on the negative than positive side with arrests, lawsuits, and cancelled shows. His latest album Funeral is in the works but is a slightly ominous sign that he feels is a sign of putting the past to rest or things may really be so bad that he sees no light at the end.
Now add the headline that his protégé Lil Twist, aka Christopher Lynn Moore, will be headed to jail and the title Funeral sort of fits. He has been sentenced to one year for assaulting and stealing the Rolex watch from Nickelodeon star Christopher Massey. The reports state that Lil Twist assaulted him with brass knuckles. Should he manage to get through on good behavior, Lil Twist could be released as early as August.
Lil Wayne is already dealing with the negativity from media about having to cancel a show in the Caribbean at the last minute for reasons that are unknown. He has been performing with 2 Chainz but they have informally started performing their own shows. Lil Wayne was supposed to be headed to the Caribbean with French Montana and other hip hop artists after his show at a community college in New York. 2 Chainz was in Silver Springs, Maryland performing his own show.
Many assume that Lil Wayne will be taking time to spend with family. He took time off recently to be with his eldest Reginae Carter for her birthday. There is the stress of a lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money Records for $51 million that he claims he is owed plus a lawsuit concerning Lil Wayne’s tour bus driver. The driver was shot at nearly two years ago near Atlanta. He is now suing Birdman and Young Thug. Lil Wayne is not included in the lawsuit.
Birdman recently paid for a gold toilet but can’t find the money to pay Lil Wayne. Fans of Lil Wayne have not been happy about the issue, expressing support for Lil Wayne in the lawsuit.
