The partners are Eversheds and Sutherland voted to merge their firms. The combination will advance their shared goal to give their clients top quality service around the globe. A potential merger between the firms was announced at the end of November.
The firm will be known as Eversheds Sutherland starting February 1. Each firm will be equal members in the new firm with joint CEOs leading a six-strong global management team with a global Board of ten made up of equal numbers from both firms. There is no big internal structure changes planned in either firm.

The challenge has been finding the right firm, particularly one that shares the same vision as us and is a strong cultural fit. In Sutherland, we have found that firm. Eversheds Sutherland will give each firm’s clients a truly global platform, including strong U.S. coverage. The feedback from colleagues and clients has been overwhelmingly positive, with many opportunities already identified, and we are very confident that this will be a great outcome for our clients and our people.â€

They will now have 2,300 lawyers spanning a global footprint of 29 countries and 61 offices. Their new numbers will put them in the top 10 in the UK and in the top 40 in the U.S. and globally.
