Summary: Two angry customers are suing a strip club for $75 million.
A night at a gentleman’s club is supposed to be fun and debaucherous; but for two patrons, it allegedly led to a robbery, personal injuries, and a terrible night in jail.
Rene Zurita and Matt Friedman said that they went to Manhattan strip club Rick’s Cabaret last February to drink and have a good time. While most patrons of adult entertainment just want to see some boobs and go home, the two men said they were held hostage and robbed by a dancer and three bouncers.
Zurita and Friedman said that they had almost $800 on their table when a stripper approached. She allegedly knocked all of their cash onto the floor and tried to keep it for herself. When they complained that she was stealing, she called bouncers, who hurried over to investigate. What soon followed was a heated he said-she said; which ended in the men getting roughed up before the police came.
Although it was Friedman who called the cops for help, Zurita and Friedman were arrested for allegedly stealing the stripper’s cash. They sat in jail for 30 miserable hours, and their attorney told The New York Post that their evening wasn’t supposed to end that way.
“They were a couple of old friends who decided to have a drink at a place that advertises as a gentlemen’s club, but there were no gentleman there,” plaintiff’s attorney Jack Yankowitz said.
In the lawsuit, three bouncers– Carlos Cline, Jimmy Valentine and Frederick Garrido–were accused of assaulting the duo. The plaintiffs’ attorneys said that one of the bouncers grabbed Zurita and slammed him into a glass frame, smashing his head. The men are seeking medical expenses from Rick’s Cabaret, as well as pain and suffering. They want a panty-dropping $75 million from their suit.
