Summary: A Jack’s fast food worker put her spit and menstrual blood on a customer’s burger because they exchanged words when the worker could not get the order right.
Have you ever thought twice before taking a bite of your served food about whether or not a worker tainted your food somehow? Maybe you should be thinking twice. A customer at a Jack’s restaurant in Columbus, Mississippi got more than just ketchup on her burger.
A fast food worker at the 130-restaurant chain operating primarily in the southern states was charged with adding her menstrual blood to a customer’s meal. Sky Juliett Samuel, 18, was arrested by police after being alerted by the mother to one of Samuel’s coworkers.
Investigators were alerted to the situation when the mother of a Jack’s worker posted the incident on her Facebook account. The woman’s daughter works with Samuel and admitted to her mother that she saw Samuel taint the burger with her saliva and blood. The customer was alerted to what had happened by the social media post and filed a complaint on January 13.
The Facebook post noted, “There is a poor woman walking around not knowing anything. If u went to Jack’s between 10:00pm and 10:30pm on 1/7/2017 and u order the big jack with a sprite u got more then ketchup!!!”
Police believe Samuel licked the burger and also smeared her menstrual blood on the burger before giving it to the customer around 10:30pm on January 7. Samuel had trouble getting the female customer’s order correctly, resulting in an exchange of words.
Samuel was fired by Jack’s and two other workers who were at the restaurant during the incident have been placed on leave pending a corporate investigation. The state’s Department of Health has opened an investigation.
Samuel was placed in jail for knowingly selling “unwholesome bread or drink.” She posted $5,000 bond. She could face up to five years in prison if she is convicted of the felony.
